An eventful evening, but certainly not the best for us. Manuel Lanzini to West Ham- Bilic makes 7th signing of the summer window

Manuel Lanzini has become the latest arrival at the Boleyn Ground after signing a season long loan deal with West Ham. The 21 year old Argentine attacker joins from UAE club Al Jazira and becomes the Hammers’ seventh signing of the summer after Darren Randolph, Pedro Obiang, Stephen Hendrie, Dimitri Payet, Angelo Ogbonna and Carl Jenkinson. West Ham vs Lusitanos 3-0- Great Crowd, Sakho Goals & Video Highlights!

A great crowd of 34,966 watched West Ham get their season underway with a 3-0 win over Andorran minnows Lusitanos. Bilic got a great reception from the crowd, but he was not in charge for this game, watching from the stands, with academy boss Terry Westley taking the reins.

The goals took a while to come- Westley had a frustrating wait till 40 minutes to watch the first go in courtesy Senegalese forward Diafra Sakho, who again got on the scoresheet before the interval. Zarate had a hand in the first, with Amalfitano setting up the second.

Great day for young Reece Oxford, who became West Ham’s youngest player at the age of 16 years and 198 days.

Skipper Tomkins got the third just before the hour mark.

Martin Samuelsen to West Ham 2015- Hammers sign young Norwegian from Man City

It’s not Dimitri Payet (not yet), but we have a confirmed signing! West Ham United have made another acquisition in the summer transfer window by snapping up talented youngster Martin Samuelsen from Man City. He joins a two year deal (till 2017) and has the option of extending it by a further two years. Samuelsen is our third signing of the season after goalkeeper Darren Randolph (Birmingham) and midfielder Pedro Obiang (Sampdoria)

The 18 year old has been capped by Norway at U16, U17 and U18 levels, and Academy manager Terry Westley was delighted at the acquisition. Westley said that the teenager had been a target for the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea at the age of 14, and chose to join West Ham despite having interest from several Italian and German clubs. Enner Strength knocks Mexico out- West Ham’s Valencia stars in Ecuadorean win at Copa America

Mexico became the first team to be knocked out of Copa America 2015 as they lost 2-0 to an Ecuadorean side which had West Ham’s Enner Valencia in their starting lineup. Valencia had a hand in the first goal scored by Miller Bolanos. His 26th minute shot was blocked and fell to Bolanos, who scored from close range.

Emelec striker Bolanos returned the favour twelve minutes after the interval, setting up Valencia for a decisive blow to Mexico’s hopes. The goal was Valencia’s second of the tournament, with the forward having also got on the scoresheet in the previous game against Bolivia. El Tri pulled one back from the penalty spot through Raul Jimenez, but it was not enough as Ecuador hung to claim all three points. [Read more…]
