West Ham’s Diego Poyet at U20 FIFA World Cup for Uruguay

West Ham have only one player at the ongoing U20 FIFA World Cup in New Zealand- Diego Poyet, son of the legendary Gustavo.

Young Diego has been a substitute in both of Uruguay’s games so far. He replaced Jaime Baez in the 71st minute against Serbia (Uruguay won 1-0) and made another twenty minute appearance off the bench against Mexico (replacing Kevin Mendez, Uruguay lost 2-1) [Read more…]

West Ham’s first signing of 2015-16- Darren Randolph joins on free from Birmingham

We’ve made our first signing of the summer in the form of Darren Randolph from Birmingham City. Randolph joins on a free, opting not to extend his Birmingham City contract. He will however be officially unveiled only on July 1 when his contract at St.Andrews officially expires.

The Bray born goalkeeper started his youth career at Charlton and left the Addicks at the age of 23 to join Motherwell. He left Fir Park in 2013 to join Birmingham City and has been an ever present for them under the sticks, missing just one league game over two seasons (that too owing to suspension!) [Read more…]

Adrian named in FIFA Ultimate’s Team of the Season- beats Courtois and Hart to be backup GK

Our outstanding keeper has beaten both Thibault and Joe Hart (and many others!) to be named backup goalkeeper to David de Gea in FIFA Ultimate’s BPL Team of the season.

The starting team is De Gea, Clyne, Terry, Fonte, Azpi, Matic, Alexis, Hazard, Fabregas, Kane and Costa

Carlton Cole says goodbye- writes farewell letter to fans

West Ham fans may not get to see Carlton Cole in claret and blue any more after the striker announced that he was leaving the club. Cole originally released in the summer of 2013, but rejoined on a short deal later and then penned an eighteen month contract in January 2014.

Cole, lest we forget, took a pay cut to stay at the club when we were relegated and showed great loyalty, when he could have easily picked up a gig in the Premiership.

Sakho vows to put more goals away next season

Hammers striker Diafra Sakho has vowed to put more balls into the back of the net next season. West Ham started off really well this season and one of my highlights was Sakho along with Valencia.
