Taking stock two months into the season- We’ve scored some sweet goals

Well, after what has been quite the incredible start to the Premier League season, we find ourselves sat in third position with only Manchester City and Manchester United ahead of us- and even then, United in first, are only three points ahead, as the table below shows.

Our form at the Boleyn has been a bit dodgy, and it looks like our lads prefer to play away! Nine points from three games away at Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City, and only four from four games at home against Leicester, Bournemouth, Newcastle and Norwich! [Read more…]

Big Sam officially joins Twitter- Autobiography to release next month

Former West Ham manager Sam Allardyce has officially joined micro blogging site Twitter. His official handle is @OfficialBigSam and he has officially described himself to be “Passionate about grassroots sports” in his account bio.

Allardyce has made two tweets so far, and has already been verified by Twitter UK.

Allardyce will be releasing his autobiography next month (October 8, 2015). It will be released by the Headline Publishing Group.

Video- Maiga goal vs Bournemouth wins WHUFC August Goal of the Month Award

Modibo Maiga’s goal vs Bournemouth has been voted West Ham’s Goal of the Month for August 2015. Maiga came on as a 73rd minute substitute for Diafra Sakho in that game, and scored in the 82nd minute. West Ham lost the game 4-3.

Maiga’s goal v Bournemouth beat off competition from Dimitri Payet’s strike v Leicester City (15 August) and Mauro Zarate’s goal against Arsenal (9 August). Other contenders were Sakho (v Werder Bremen), Kouyate (v Arsenal) and Sakho again (v Liverpool)

The goal was Maiga’s last for the club, with the Malian international signing for Saudi club Al-Nassr to bring to an end his three year stay at Upton Park. The 27 year old joined the Hammers from French outfit Sochaux back in 2012. [Read more…]

Super Slav sends thank you note to Karren Brady for transfer signings!

Karren Brady has revealed in her column in the Sun that West Ham manager Slaven Bilic sent her a thank you note after the club completed four new signings on transfer deadline day.

Bilic was delighted with the acquisitions of Michail Antonio and Nikica Jelavic (permanent) and that of Alex Song and Victor Moses (loan) and sent Brady a note saying, “Good job Karren. We’ve done well. Thanks!”

Brady went on to add that it was the “first time in 25 years a manager has done that”
