Noble was sent off in the 78th minute by referee Kevin Friend in West Ham’s 3-0 win over Liverpool for a challenge on Danny Ings. First Indian Woman Footballer in England- West Ham’s New Goalkeeper Aditi Chauhan
New West Ham signing Aditi Chauhan has created history in her native India by becoming the first Indian woman footballer to play in England. West Ham Ladies play in the third tier (Premier League Southern Division) and Chauhan made her debut in the 5-0 loss to Coventry City on the opening day of the season.
India is a cricket-mad nation, although football and the Premier League have been slowly growing in popularity in the South Asian country. There is however NO current professional league for women footballers in India, so for Chauhan to make it so far, is a major achievement. [Read more…]
Video Arsenal West Ham 0-2- Super Slav opens with a super win- Goals for Zarate and Kouyate
Slaven Bilic was fully vindicated in his stance to rest key players for West Ham’s midweek Europa League clash against Astra in Romania as the Hammers upset Arsenal at the Emirates in the opening day of the season.
Kouyate scored the first on 44 minutes, with Zarate netting the second before the hour mark- both were errors from Arsenal keeper Petr Cech.
Young Reece Oxford (only 16!) had a composed debut, with a pass accuracy of 95% (20/21). He was replaced later in the game by 33 year old Kevin Nolan (twice Reece’s age!), who achieved a little personal landmark of getting to 400 league games.
Fellow debutants Payet and Ogbonna were great as well, with Adrian keeping a clean sheet under the sticks.

Former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp had said before the game that he privately thought it would be better if the Hammers got knocked out. Well, ‘ol Harry got his wish as we went out in Romania in the second leg of our Europa League qualifying tie to Astra Giurgiu. Manuel Lanzini scored his first goal for the club, but Astra skipper Constantin Budescu rose to the occasion with two goals in four first half minutes as his side prevailed 4-3 on aggregate.
Bilic’s side selection seemed to imply that the Premiership opener against Arsenal was at the top of his mind, with Jenkinson, Nolan and Maiga the only players who could be termed starters taking the pitch against the Romanians [Read more…]
Video Highlights West Ham vs Werder Bremen 1-2 Goals 2015 Betway Challenge Cup
Our final pre-season game ended in defeat as Bremen beat us 2-1 in the Betway Challenge Cup. Diafra Sakho gave us the lead, but just a minute later, Anthony Ujah opened the scoring for Bremen, although Adrian would have been a little disappointed at letting the goal in. Ujah also scored a second, and that was that as both teams struggled to find rhythm in a disjointed second half [Read more…]
