West Ham stars Masuaku, Snodgrass not called up for November internationals

West Ham’s Arthur Masuaku and Robert Snodgrass will not be seen in action during the upcoming November internationals after they were left out of their respective national squads.

Left back Masuaku, who made his debut for DR Congo last month against Zimbabwe, has not been named in the Leopards’ 24 member squad to play neighbours Congo. Apart from Masuaku, other high profile omissions from the DRC squad that played Zimbabwe include Benik Afobe and Jacques Maghoma. There is however a recall for Celtic’s Youssuf Mulumbu, who last featured for his country at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. [Read more…]

Diego Demme West Ham | Leipzig star attracts interest from Hammers

According to reports in the papers today, West Ham are interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Diego Demme. The Hammers are short on midfield cover and played a midfield trio of Pedro Obiang, Robert Snodgrass and Declan Rice against Burnley with the likes of Carlos Sanchez and Hack Wilshere and Mark Noble suspended.

The trio did their job against the Clarets, especially Rice, who has excelled in his defensive role and is often the only member of the Hammers midfield to play the full 90. Rice’s performance impressed Jamie Redknapp, who said he wouldn’t be surprised if Man City came calling for the youngster. [Read more…]

Referee announced for Huddersfield-West Ham game | Town winless in Premier League under him!

The referee for West Ham’s crucial Round 12 league clash this weekend away at Huddersfield Town has been officially announced. Chris Kavanagh will be the man in charge of this game, assisted by Simon Bennett and Marc Perry, with Michael Oliver to serve as the fourth official.

While Town had a good record in the Championship under Kavanagh, they are yet to win a top flight game refereed by him. The news will be music to the ears of Manuel Pellegrini, whose side are aiming to register back to back league wins for the first time since January 2017. [Read more…]

What next for this one time West Ham wonderkid?

In July 2015, a fresh-faced youngster by the name of Reece Oxford took to the field to help West Ham United in their Europa League debut against FC Lusitanos.

They’d qualified by virtue of the UEFA Fair Play regulations and fielded a youthful side against the Andorrans. Josh Cullen, an exciting central midfielder played, as did Reece Burke, a central defender. By far the most cultured display came from a 16-year old by the name of Reece Oxford.

In making his debut that warm summer night, he became the youngster ever player to star for West Ham. In a side famed for developing cultured youngsters with big futures such as Lampard, Ferdinand and Carrick, he became the most exciting of them all. [Read more…]

West Ham vs Burnley Recap- Key moments, opportunities & chances- Minute by Minute

Here is a minute by minute summary of all the key moments, opportunities, chances and (of course!) goals from West Ham’s 4-2 win over Burnley on November 3, 2018 (Saturday).

Both teams were neck and neck in the points table going into this Round 11 clash, with the same 2-2-6 record to show for their efforts after the first ten games.

West Ham started with a 4-1-4-1 and welcomed Marko Arnautovic back from illness. Aaron Cresswell got the nod ahead of Arthur Masuaku at left back- both apparently had issues ahead of the game, but Pellegrini said he’d go with the fitter player, and chose the former.
