Huddersfield v West Ham 2018 Report- Arnautovic Lanzini show gives Moyes 200th Premier League win

Manuel Lanzini’s brace, his first on the road in the Premier League for fourteen months and a beautiful effort from Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic were enough for West Ham to beat Huddersfield 4-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium and give coach David Moyes his 200th Premier League win as manager- only Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp have more wins than the Scotsman.

West Ham had lost only one of their last six Premier League games going into this clash- Huddersfield, by comparison, had won ONLY once in their last six, which mean that this would be an intriguing fixture despite the Hammers’ indifferent away form.

For West Ham, James Collins took the place of Winston Reid in defence and Arnautovic returned to the XI after recovering from a hamstring problem. David Wagner chose to put new Huddersfield signing Alex Pritchard on the bench. [Read more…]

Chancel Mbemba Sakho Swap Deal?- Hammers to exchange striker for defender?

If rumours are to be believed, Newcastle are prepared to let Chancel Mbemba go to West Ham in exchange for Diafra Sakho. Hammers boss David Moyes has played three in defence (mostly Winston Reid, Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell) since replacing Slaven Bilic, and feels another defender would strengthen his squad, with veteran James Collins and youngster Declan Rice the only other options available.

The versatile Mbemba, who can play in various positions across defence, also has age on his side- he’s only 23. While Newcastle rate him as one of their better players, the Magpies do need a striker and Diafra Sakho is said to desperately want a move away from the London Stadium. Sakho has been linked with Palace, but it now seems that St.James Park might also be a potential destination for the Senegalese international [Read more…]

Fyodor Smolov | West Ham interested in prolific FC Krasnodar striker

West Ham are apparently interested in signing Russian striker Fyodor Smolov. The 27 year old, who currently plies his trade for Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League, has been the top scorer in the RPL for the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons after moving to FCK from Dynamo Moscow in 2015.

With Diafra Sakho heading for the exit door and Moyes also thinking of allowing Javier Hernandez to move on, West Ham would definitely need attacking replacements and Smolov, who will reportedly cost somewhere around £15m, is being thought of as an option.

Smolov has previously told the Russian press that he thought West Ham were “too defensive” a side (he said it after their 2-1 loss to Man City when the Hammers were forced to absorb large spells of pressure by the likes of De Bruyne and co.) and would not suit his style of play. It now appears that he has had a u-turn and is open to the idea of a move to the London Stadium [Read more…]

Diafra Sakho | Crystal Palace in talks to sign West Ham striker

Crystal Palace are in talks with West Ham over a move for unsettled striker Diafra Sakho. The Senegalese international has made no secret of the fact that he wants out of the London Stadium and Palace, who are one spot above West Ham in the league standings, have expressed interest in bringing him to Selhurst Park.

Palace already have Mamadou Sakho and Bakary Sako in their ranks, so signing Diafra will make it a third Sakho at Selhurst Park! [Read more…]

Manchester United 0-3 West Ham U23- Young Hammers begin 2018 brightly

Goals from Diangana, Toni Martinez and Martin Samuelsen saw West Ham U23 begin the year on a bright note as they beat Manchester United U23’s 3-0 at Old Trafford. The game was goalless at the interval but Diangana’s 51st minute effort and Luca Ercolani’s red card seconds later swung the game the visitors’ way, and strikes from Martinez (61) and Samuelsen (63) sealed victory in this PL2 clash.
