West Ham take Zusi on trial

graham zusi

West Ham United have taken American international player Graham Zusi on trial.

26-year-old Zusi – not to be confused with the white goods maker Zanussi – currently plies his trade in the MLS for Kansas and recently finished third in the MLS Player of The Year award.

Zusi is an attacking midfield player and is considered one of the brightest and best players in the MLS, West Ham United have beaten a lot of interested parties to the punch by securing the player on trial with a view to making a more permanent move for Zusi should he be successful.

Ivan Ramis Bid Accepted

Ivan Ramis on his way to West Ham after RCD Mallorca accept bid.

Breaking news this evening is that RCD Mallorca have announced on their website that they have agreed a deal with West Ham United for the transfer of defender Ivan Ramis, with the player now on his way to Upton Park for a medical.

Ramis has been in the Mallorca first team for eight years and will leave the club as one of their most important players.

The statment on Mallorca’s website reads:

For Ramis there is a new challenge in the Premier League. After eight years in the first team of RCD Mallorca and two more in the reserves, he has become one of the most important players in the team.

The coaching staff led by Joaquin Caparros, all partners of the wardrobe, employees of the club, fans and environment we wish Ivan the greatest fortune in his new era.

Well this is very good news as West Ham have been crying out for a quality defender to join the ranks and Ivan could be an excellent foil for James Tompkins.

How about you guys? Pleased with this move?

West Ham Sign Swiss Keeper

West Ham United have added some more depth to their goalkeeping department by signing the young Swiss goalkeeper Raphael Spiegel from Grasshoppers for an undisclosed fee.

Spiegel has inked a three-year deal with West Ham, with the option of another year, and is due to meet up with his new team mates later on this week.

He has represented his country at various youth levels and is regarded as one of their brightest prospects.

The 19-year-old is expected to provide cover for recently signed senior keepers Jussi Jaaskelainen and Stephen Henderson.

I don’t know much more about the young man but it looks like our goalkeeping situation is strong now with Green, Boffin and Stech having all been replaced. Lets hope we can sign a few defenders next as we are looking light in that department.

Allardyce Confirms Carroll Interest

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce confirmed with SkySports he would love the chance to bring Andy Carroll to West Ham United, but accepts any move will depend on the player.

Brendan Rogers hinted at the possibilty of £35 Million striker Carroll being sent on loan, and since then speculation has been rife with AC Milan, Newcastle and West Ham all being linked with moves.

Allardyce Unsure

However, Allardyce is not convinced the big number 9 would be interested in a move to Upton Park.

Speaking with SkySports Allardyce said:

You can’t say you wouldn’t be interested in Andy Carroll, he’s a player who has got great stature in the Premier League,”

“Whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham is another matter.”

Asked if he would favour a loan move or a permanent deal for the 23-year-old striker, Allardyce added: “It depends on whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham.”

Not sure if this deal is likely to come off and feel that this could be disguising the fact we are trying to sign Modibo Maiga.

West Ham Move For Maiga

According to SkySports West Ham have made a move to sign Sochaux striker Modibo Maiga.

Rumours earlier this week suggested West Ham were chasing the highly rated Mali international whose move to Newcastle fell apart last season.

West Ham now look to have stole a march on their rivals for the strikers signature with Stoke and Reading rumoured to be interested.

£4 Million is the price being touted with the striker expected in England next week to finalise a deal if the rumours are true.
