Thursday Transfer Update

West Ham are very busy in the transfer market this window with seven players already in the door and more to follow.

Let’s kick off with Spanish defender Ivan Ramis who was all set to move to West Ham after a fee was agreed with his club Mallorca, however after passing his medical he got a call from a certain Roberto Martinez who whispered sweet nothings in Spanish in his ear and now he looks set to move to Wigan.

So was we being used by Mr. Ramis to get Wigan to sweeten the deal? Either way we signed James Collins so we haven’t been left high and dry as we have a good defender who crucially has Premier League experience.

Carlos Tevez

Apparently a deal to take the Argentinian striker on loan for 6 months is in place, however it’s conditional on City signing a top quality striker, who I am assuming is Robin Van Persie who wants out at Arsenal.

I wasn’t paying much attention to this but betting on this transfer has shortened all the way to 3/1 joint favourites with AC Milan. I usually find when the odds turn around like that then there is usually something to it. Whether or not all the pieces fall in to place to make this deal happen is another thing.

Andy Carroll

Carroll was left out of Liverpools Europa squad yesterday citing injury, however that says to me Rodgers isn’t keen on the player and wants him to move to West Ham as soon as possible or get on the phone and try and get Newcastle to offer the same package so they can cash in and get some replacements in.

Carlos Sanchez

Sanchez is a defensive midfield player who is interesting Bolton, West Ham are now looking to scupper the deal for the man known as ‘The Rock’.

How about you guys? Heard anything on the down low you would care to share?

Tuesday Update

Lots going on with West Ham regarding players but very little official news coming through.

Let’s kick off with Andy Carroll, everywhere was buzzing yesterday with lots of respectable sources suggesting it was a done deal with £2 Million being paid up front for the loan of Carroll for the season, with a further £17 Million to be paid subject to West Ham retaining their Premier League status, however rumours are the player himself is reluctant to head to West Ham, although nothing has been confirmed by Carroll himself.

Not sure about this personally, I feel we have been courting the player who has shown little or no desire to come to us, so maybe time to put this to bed and focus on quality players who do want to play for West Ham.

As I understand this deal is now dead and we will not be pursuing this further.

Ivan Ramis

The player is apparently having a medical at Upton Park today and a deal will hopefully be confirmed in the next 24 hours.

James Collins

A fee has been agreed with Aston Villa to bring ‘The Ginger Pele’ back to West Ham, I always rated Collins so am happy to see him heading back to ply his trade in claret and blue.

Sebastian Boenisch

The Polish international full back is in discussions with West Ham after leaving Werder Bremen last month.

Demba Ba

No news on the player but his contract stipulates a £7 Million release clause until midnight tonight, surely worth activating as the man is a goal scorer, not sure if he would come back to West Ham but definitely worth a punt in my opinion.

I can’t help but think the whole Andy Carroll pantomime is really a smoke screen for other signings, I think it’s obvious he has no interest in joining us so hopefully we’re working on signing someone like Demba Ba or even Dimitar Berbatov behind the scenes.

What about you guys? What’s your view on our transfer dealings and who would you like us to bring in?

Collins, Ramis and Boenisch Transfer News

West Ham are looking to tie up deals for three defenders over the next 72 hours, with James Collins, Ivan Ramis and Sebastian Boenisch coming in.

Having recently signed forward Modibo Maiga and midfield enforcer Mohamed Diame, Big Sam Allardyce appears to have set his sights on getting the defence strengthened.

Ivan Ramis will be the marquee signing of the three having good form and pedigree for Mallorca and is a big imposing centre back who we will need in our first season back in the Premier League. Rumours earlier were that Wigan were still in the hunt but it now looks like the Spanish player is set for Upton Park.

James Collins or The Ginger Peleas he is known in the east end is well known to Hammer fans and is poised to re-join us for a nominal fee from Aston Villa, the club we sold him to a few years back.

Sebastian Boenisch is a Polish international who is without a club having left German club Werder Bremen last month, he has had no shortage of offers from German outfits but he would like to try his hand in the Premier League with West Ham his likely destination.

The Twitter universe has also been going crazy today with some even mentioning Carlos Tevez for a dramatic return, as much as I would like that I can’t see it happening, but I never thought Tevez and Mascherano would have signed for us on that dramatic deadline day a few years back so you can never say never, just highly unlikely!

Ivan Ramis Bid Accepted

Ivan Ramis on his way to West Ham after RCD Mallorca accept bid.

Breaking news this evening is that RCD Mallorca have announced on their website that they have agreed a deal with West Ham United for the transfer of defender Ivan Ramis, with the player now on his way to Upton Park for a medical.

Ramis has been in the Mallorca first team for eight years and will leave the club as one of their most important players.

The statment on Mallorca’s website reads:

For Ramis there is a new challenge in the Premier League. After eight years in the first team of RCD Mallorca and two more in the reserves, he has become one of the most important players in the team.

The coaching staff led by Joaquin Caparros, all partners of the wardrobe, employees of the club, fans and environment we wish Ivan the greatest fortune in his new era.

Well this is very good news as West Ham have been crying out for a quality defender to join the ranks and Ivan could be an excellent foil for James Tompkins.

How about you guys? Pleased with this move?

Ivan Ramis Linked To West Ham

Ramis reveals a ‘new and very interesting offer’.

Earlier this week Ivan Ramis the Spanish defender appeared to be on his way to Wigan when they increased their bid to around €4.5million for the Mallorca man.

However, it now appears someone else has come in and topped their offer for the 27-year-old Ramis, with that club rumoured to be West Ham.

Speaking with The Daily Mirror he said:

“I have played my last match for Mallorca because there is a new and very interesting offer for me.

“Wigan is not the best proposition for me.”

Ramis has been linked with a move to a whole host of Premier League and SPL clubs, but The Hammers could now be his destination.

Since this article was published a bid has been accepted, read more HERE.
