Official: Vaz Te Signs

West Ham United have officially completed the signing of Ricardo Vaz Te from Barsnley.

The former Portugal Under-21 international forward joins the Hammers on a two and a half year deal with an option for a third year for an undisclosed fee.

Speaking to WHUFC.com:

“I feel great. I’m very excited to work with Sam again and it’s great because I know a few players here,” he said. “I’m very thankful and excited and looking forward to it.

“I spoke to Sam on Tuesday and went to see him at his office. He told me what he’s looking for. I’m very excited and I think he’s very excited too. I’ve played with Kevin Nolan and Joey O’Brien before and I also know Neil McDonald and some of the backroom staff.

“I had a fantastic time at Barnsley. I’m very grateful for the opportunity they gave me and I hope the fans can understand why I left as West Ham is a great opportunity for me. I have a great respect and love for the Barnsley fans and I wish them the very best.”

Good news in my opinion as he definitely knows where the back of the net is, and having seen him play he looks like a tricky customer.

Official: Hammers Sign Morrison

West Ham United have announced the signing of highly-rated midfielder Ravel Morrison from Manchester United.

Speaking to WHUFC.com

“I’m really pleased to have signed,” Morrison said. “The move has happened very quickly and I’m looking forward to hopefully moving up to the Premier League with West Ham soon. I’m an attacking player and I’m hoping to get the fans on their feet.

“I met with Sam Allardyce this morning and he welcomed me to the club. I also played with Robert Hall in the England team and I know him well so that will be really helpful to have someone here that I know.”

Lets hope we can help him fulfill his vast potential with our club!

Transfer Deadline Day Latest

As the 11pm deadline looms I have been out and about on the internet and have Sky Sports as a fixture on my TV looking for the latest news for us Hammers!

Main stories are as follows:

Sky Sports are reporting West Ham have agreed a fee in the region of 2.5 Million for Bristol City’s Nicky Maynard. This is great news in my opinion as this is just what we need a regular goal scorer!

Genoa Striker Ze Eduardo arrived in London yesterday and completed a medical with the idea he plays on loan for the rest of the season and it turns into a permanent deal in the summer.

Manchester United’s 18-year-old Midefielder Ravel Morrison is on his way to London in order to undergo a medical ahead of a proposed permanent transfer from Manchester United. Looking around the web this guy has some serious talent and is thought to be the best youngster to come out of the Manchester Utd academy since a certain Paul Scholes, however it appears he has a slight disciplinary problem which is why Sir Alex is willing to let him go. Lets hop a change of scenery is what the young man needs!

And yet another striker on his way to The Boleyn is Ricardo Vaz Te, who Barnsley have reportedly accepted a bid of £750,000 for from the Hammers. With 12 league goals already this season he could be magic up front with Mr. Maynard.

Herita And Out

Herita Ilunga

Herita Ilunga

News coming out today is that Herita Ilunga has left West Ham United “by mutual consent”.

The left back has been released by The Hammers having made a total of 73 appearances for the club during his stint at Upton Park.

A quote from the man himself on his Twitter page:

Just to say thanks to all West Ham fans, you’ve been so great with me. We’ll support the Hammers together in the Premier League next year.

I had hoped for more from Ilunga as when he first turned up I thought he really looked the part and would go on to be a great left back for us. Guess things don’t always turn out how you imagine!

Tonks Signs New Deal

Hammer James Tompkins has pledged his future to the club by putting pen to paper on a new deal with West Ham that will tie him to the club until 2016, with the option of a further year.

The No5 hit a milestone on Saturday with the game against Nottingham Forest being his 100th senior appearance for the club.

Talking to WHUFC.COM

“I’m really pleased that I’ve signed a new contract at the club,” he said. “It’s nice to end the speculation about what people have been saying in the papers and commit my future to the club and concentrate on my football.

“By signing this deal, I’m showing my commitment to the club as they’ve been brilliant to me this year with all the support they have given to me and the rest of the players. If they continue doing that then together we can return the club back to the Premier League, where we believe we belong.

“Sam Allardyce has been brilliant this year as well and has shown what he can do on and off the pitch as a motivational manager.”

Good news then as quite a few PL clubs were hovering around looking at Tonks!
