Breaking News: Jussi Signs

SkySports News are this morning reporting that Jussi Jaaskelainen has signed a 2 year contract with West Ham to be reunited with his old manager Sam Allardyce.

The Finnish Stopper turned down the chance of staying at Bolton after rejecting their offer of a new contact in favour of a move down south to be between the sticks for the mighty Hammers!

West Ham are officially expected to confirm the deal shortly, with the 37-year-old  joining us on July 1 when the transfer window reopens.

The news comes hot on the heels of the transfer update from the club yesterday confirming they are close to two excellent players available on a bosman, and also the news Rob Green looks set to sign with QPR.

Good news in my opinion and will be an excellent role model for Henderson as Jussi has been a top keeper and still has a few good years left in the tank.

Allardyce Spotted With Juventus Chief

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce was caught on camera by Sky Sports Italia today shaking hands and discussing matters with Juventus director Fabio Paratici.

It has been reported that speed merchant wingers Eljero Elia and Milos Krasic were top of the bill when it came to players discussed.

Elia is a Dutch international who moved to Juventus after one season with Hamburger where he moved for 9 Million Euros.

Krasic is a Serbian international who moved to The Old Lady of Italian football from CSKA Moscow, his first season was a big success with goals and assists aplenty, however injuries took their toll and the once ever present found games hard to come by this season under manager Antonio Conte.

Both players were linked with moves to The Premiership in January but nothing materialised with both players opting to fight for a place in the team.

If we can get either of these players then it will be a real step up in quality and a signal of intent from us that we are not just happy with avoiding relegation but looking to cement our position in the top flight. COYI.

Breaking News: Hammers Close To Diame

Breaking news coming from Sky Sports is that West Ham are currently in talks with Wigan’s Mohamed Diame.

Diame is interesting a host of other clubs and is a combatative midfield enforcer which The Hammers are in need of with their first season back in The Premiership looming.

The news comes hot on the heels of an announcement by the club itself that they are close to two of the best bosman transfers available with the other believed to be Jaaskelainen.

Snippet from the WHUFC statement: West Ham United are hoping to bring in at least five new players this summer, with possible targets identified across the field and a particular focus given to bringing in at least two new attacking players. There are currently bids in for two players and talks are also at an advanced stage to sign two of the best ‘Bosman’ transfers available in the Premier League.

This deal would be something of a coup for West Ham as this guy is a quality player and has interested some top clubs ranging from Real Madrid when he was in Spain to Manchester Utd during his Wigan spell. Liverpool looked to be in poll position but now it looks like The Hammers have jumped to the font of the queue.

Lets hope we get our business concluded nice and early and not panic buying on deadline day like most years.

Hammers Back In For Holt

News coming out today from various papers is that West Ham are back in for Grant Holt of Norwich.

Having already seen an offer in the region of £3.5m  for the 31-year-old turned down, it appears West Ham are going back in with an improved offer.

Holt handed in a transfer request recently and seems determined to move on after scoring 17 goals for Norwich last season.

Not sure how much legs this one has got but I would prefer to see us chasing some younger and more mobile strikers. Why spend 4 Million on a 31-year-old Holt when maybe 6 Million could get you the scoring machine that is Jordan Rhodes?

Green To QPR?

So after a few weeks of speculation of where will Rob Green end up it looks like QPR have stolen a march on their rivals with the former Hammer set to sign for them on a reported 50k per week.

Personally I thought Green would only leave for a club competing in Europe who needed a keeper like Spurs, or go abroad for a big pay day and Champions League football with Malaga.

QPR’s current No 1 Paddy Kenny looks set to leave and join up with his best buddy manager Neil Warnock at Leeds United.

I was under the impression West Ham were offering 45k per week so not entirely sure if uprooting and moving to the other side of London is entirely worth it for Green, but he served us loyally and stayed with us when we were relegated so goes with my blessing, not that he needs it!

Anyway, good luck to Rob and lets hope we hear some news on Jussi soon!
