Hammers keen on signing French striker Loic Remy

Rumours coming from The Daily Star suggest that West Ham United are nearing completion of a deal for French striker Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.

After having deals fall through in the shape of Columbian hit man Duvan Zapata over work permit issues, the West Ham manager wants to add a few additions looking ahead to the new season, which is just around the corner. [Read more…]

Green To QPR?

So after a few weeks of speculation of where will Rob Green end up it looks like QPR have stolen a march on their rivals with the former Hammer set to sign for them on a reported 50k per week.

Personally I thought Green would only leave for a club competing in Europe who needed a keeper like Spurs, or go abroad for a big pay day and Champions League football with Malaga.

QPR’s current No 1 Paddy Kenny looks set to leave and join up with his best buddy manager Neil Warnock at Leeds United.

I was under the impression West Ham were offering 45k per week so not entirely sure if uprooting and moving to the other side of London is entirely worth it for Green, but he served us loyally and stayed with us when we were relegated so goes with my blessing, not that he needs it!

Anyway, good luck to Rob and lets hope we hear some news on Jussi soon!

Tompkins Interest Laughed Off

Queens Park Rangers reported interest in signing West Ham United centre back James ‘Tonks’ Tomkins has been ignored  by West Ham.

The 22-year-old centre half has been in fine form in the opening half of the season putting in a string of impressive performances.

Such performances were sure to attract the interest of other clubs and QPR are the first to make a move for the player.

Rangers manager Neil Warnock said he values at Tompkin’s ‘around the £3million mark’.

However that valuation has been laughed off by West Ham United, with an unnamed insider telling Harris Harris of ESPN that “we wouldn’t sell him for that” adding, “he has nearly three years left on his contract, he’s not for sale.”

I honestly hope that we don’t go back to the days of selling our best young players. Tompkins is a great player in the making as far as I am concerned and we need to keep players like him to compete if/when we get back in the Premier League.
