Michail Antonio’s last minute brain freeze cost West Ham dearly as they missed out on a golden opportunity to pick up their first away win of the 2017/18 Premier League season. The Hammers, 2-0 up at half time against arguably the worst team in the PL, paid the price for some questionable tactics and lack of composure as Wilfried Zaha, who had never scored against the visitors before this fixture, snatched an equaliser for the Eagles deep into second half stoppage time. It also broke a three game winning streak for WHUFC at Selhurst Park.

Palace, who had taken only 3 points from 9 games going into this clash, opted for a 4-4-2, with ex West Ham player James Tomkins taking the place of the injured Mamadou Sakho in defence and Reuben Loftus-Cheek in for James McArthur. Not surprisingly, Andrew Ayew got most of the plaudits, with the Ghanaian international being praised for his second half performance.

West Ham’s first game at Wembley since the 2012 playoff final saw them conjure up a miraculous second half comeback as they netted three times in the space of a quarter of an hour in the second half to stun in-form Tottenham Hotspur, and make it to the last eight of the Carabao Cup for the second season in succession.

Slaven Bilic made NINE changes to the side that had lost at home to Brighton on Friday. Cheikhou Kouyate, on the right side of a back three (along with Declan Rice and Angelo Ogbonna) and Manuel Lanzini were the only survivors. Premier League Distance Covered 2017-18 | West Ham lowest after 9 rounds

Despite a poor performance at home against Brighton on Friday night, West Ham thankfully stayed out of the bottom three after the conclusion of Week 9 in the Premier League.
