Burnley v West Ham predictions- How do the pundits reckon the Hammers will fare against Sean Dyche’s men?

West Ham will look to finish December on a winning note when they travel to Turf Moor to take on Sean Dyche’s Burnley on Sunday afternoon. The Hammers have already had their best ever month in Premier League history, picking up an unprecedented fifteen points in December. Another three points against the Clarets will see them create another club record and potentially a Manager of the Month nomination for Manuel Pellegrini.

With Saturday’s results seeing Everton and Leicester both being upset and Watford drawing, West Ham will jump to 7th in the table if they win against Burnley. That’s a pretty big incentive, and would cap an almost perfect end to the year for Pellegrini after the club’s horror start to the season (they lost their first four league games)

Which way do the pundits reckon this game will go? None of the pundits expected West Ham to get the better of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton on Thursday. However Felipe Anderson’s brilliant brace saw the Hammers emerge from the South Coast with all three points.

This will be West Ham’ first ever Premier League game with David Coote as referee. The Hammers beat Burnley 4-2 when the twos sides met at the London Stadium earlier this season.

Mark Lawrenson: Lawro has to chosen to back West Ham’s opponents again. Says that Burnley “have to improve soon” and adds it’s “difficult” to know what to expect from the Hammers because of their injury problems. Has predicted a 2-0 win for Burnley.

Lawro’s celeb opponent for GW20, Wolf Alice bassist Theo Ellis, has gone for a 5-1 win to West Ham!

Paul Merson: Merson says Burnley “are all over the place” and that West Ham will make it an “even more miserable Christmas” for Sean Dyche’s side. Has gone for a 3-1 West Ham win.

Robbie Savage: Like Merson, Savage has also predicted a two goal win for West Ham. Thinks Manuel Pellegrini’s men will walk away 2-0 winners from this clash.

Michael Owen: Owen reckons both sides will score at Turf Moor, and thinks 1-1 could be the end result at Turf Moor.

Kevin Kilbane: Kilbane says that while West Ham have won 5/6 in December, Burnley have done the exact opposite- the Clarets have lost five out of six this month. Reckons Sean Dyche will set up his side to prevent a loss, but feels a West Ham draw no bet would be a good option.

Mark Lawrenson: Burnley 2-0 West Ham
CO: Burnley 1-5 West Ham
Paul Merson: Burnley 1-3 West Ham
Robbie Savage: Burnley 0-2 West Ham
Michael Owen:Burnley 1-1 West Ham
Kevin Kilbane: West Ham draw no bet
