Diarra or Parker?

With news circulating this past week; that former captain marvel Scott Parker could make a return to Upton Park, is this news that should excite many West Ham fans?

Leaving back in 2011, Parker was a cult hero for West Ham, known for his extraordinary work rate and desire. Although some fans have voiced their displeasure at the return of Scott after the player choose to join rivals Tottenham Hotspur in a controversial move. Personally I don’t hold any resentment towards Parker for leaving, he isn’t getting any younger and in order to maintain his England spot; it was inevitable he would have to leave for a Premier League side. Parker Slaps In Transfer Request

Scott Parker slapped in a transfer request in order to push through his move to Tottenham ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

The midfielder claimed he had to leave West Ham in order to continue being involved with the England squad, although he has been picked for two consecutive England squads as a West Ham player in The Championship. Sounds like an excuse to me Scotty! Just say you want to leave rather than come out with some England nonsense when your already in the squad and Mr. Capello has stated he will continue to pick you!

“I have had a fantastic four years at West Ham United and will never forget all the support I have had from the fans and everyone associated with the club,” he told whufc.com.

“The manager and board have tried hard to convince me to stay but at this stage in my career, I need to be playing in the Premier League, especially now that I am involved with England.

“I hope the fans will understand and respect my decision and I wish the club every success in their fight for promotion this season.”

Not the best time to go to our bitter North London rivals when we are embroiled in a bitter dispute with them!

Chelsea want Parker on loan

News coming out in some of the papers and being touted around the web today are that Chelsea want Parker, but only on loan for the season as cover for Michael Essien who is injured.

The deal would see Chelsea cover Parkers wages as well as paying a small fee for taking the midfielder. It’s unclear if West Ham are interested at this stage.

It would also allow Parker to return to West Ham if they achieve promotion back to the premier league at the first time of asking.

Would this suit West Ham though as Parker will be another year older and his resale value will have gone down further.

So do you think this is a good idea or would you prefer to take the cash now and say thank you very much Scott and strengthen then team?
