West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has spoken of his desire to stay at the club for the long-term.
Allardyce has done a great job in getting West Ham promoted in his first season and now the team sit in 11th place in the Premier League knowing a few good results could lift them into a Europa League spot.
Earlier this month West Ham were named as the preferred bidders for the Olympic Stadium, something which Allardyce is eyeing up as the club will hopefully move to their new home in 2015, and if Allardyce is still in control than that will give the club stability as well as one of the longest-serving managers in the Premier League.
Talking to the Express he said:
For every manager, the sack is just around the corner but the Olympic Stadium is a nice light at the end of the tunnel.
It would be a massive achievement for anyone to stay at a club that long these days. But after a number of experiences, you get confidence in your own abilities. If you don’t have that, you won’t survive.
Big Sam is currently in the last year of his contract, but unless West Ham lose every single game from here on out and get relegated then it’s safe to say he will be rewarded with a new contract.
Having been sacked somewhat unfairly in his last two jobs, Allardyce feels he has started to win over the West Ham faithful.

I think stability is exactly what we need and I believe with a few more quality additions in January the football will only get better and we wont just be good defensively but also a handful in attack.
Big Sam has taken out the big gun and pointed it in the direction of Steve Kean from Blackburn.
Yes, you heard that right, Allardyce is taking legal action against his old firm and against the man who replaced him as manager, Steve Kean. It appears that Sam’s move for legal action is in response to a video rant made by Kean in May and he’s having none of it.
The battle looks set to take place in the High Court, too. The video which lasts just over 4 minutes is full of rants and four letter words used by the Scot and Kean voices his opinion on why Allardyce was given the boot from Blackburn.
The clip was filmed in a Hong Kong bar and Kean can be heard talking with Blackburn fans. It was filmed on Blackburn’s pre-season tour of the Far East.
In the clip he is asked about his relationship with Allardyce, who appointed Kean as first-team coach, Kean responds like this:
“I haven鈥檛 spoken to him. He mullered me so I said f*** him.
“I worked my b***s off for him and then he had a go at me so f*** him.”
Nice one Keano. The 4 minute video ends strangely with Steve Kean boasting that his ultimately doomed outfit would win the Carling Cup. Alrighty then 馃槈
A spokesman acting on behalf of Sam Allardyce said:
“He has issued legal proceedings against Steve Kean and Blackburn Rovers but is unable to comment further at this time.”
I think it’s a clear cut case of jealousy and sour grapes on Kean’s part and I hope Allardyce “reams” him 馃槈
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce confirmed with SkySports he would love the chance to bring Andy Carroll to West Ham United, but accepts any move will depend on the player.
Brendan Rogers hinted at the possibilty of 拢35 Million striker Carroll being sent on loan, and since then speculation has been rife with AC Milan, Newcastle and West Ham all being linked with moves.
Allardyce Unsure
However, Allardyce is not convinced the big number 9 would be interested in a move to Upton Park.
Speaking with SkySports Allardyce said:
You can’t say you wouldn’t be interested in Andy Carroll, he’s a player who has got great stature in the Premier League,”
“Whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham is another matter.”
Asked if he would favour a loan move or a permanent deal for the 23-year-old striker, Allardyce added: “It depends on whether Andy Carroll wants to come to West Ham.”
Not sure if this deal is likely to come off and feel that this could be disguising the fact we are trying to sign Modibo Maiga.
I can’t believe it neither can big Sam. Yet another draw for the Irons after a dominating game by the boys in claret and blue!
Burnley were quite simply outplayed by the Hammers at Turf Moor in this npower Championship game but were not rewarded with the points. The Hammers were even 2 nil down at half time but roared back into life after the break.
Kevin Nolan and James Tomkins put the Irons back in the frame and levelled the score and after numerous chances went begging, Allardyce was left flabbergasted to see his Hammers leave Turf Moor with just a point.
“I’m absolutely totally and utterly flabbergasted that we didn’t leave Burnley with a victory under our belts. From the very start, we had chance after chance after chance and then incredibly went 2-0 down. Even then, we had a couple of chances before half-time that we couldn’t put in the back of the net.
“We slipped up defensively on a couple of occasions and they’ve scored two goals completely against the run of play after playing so well.
“We changed the system a bit and went for it a little bit more. The comeback was fantastic but it wasn’t really a comeback because we were already there. We increased the amount of opportunities we could score from, but unfortunately we fell foul of not converting our opportunities into goals.
“We must have had four or five one-on-ones, we’ve hit the post and had a goal disallowed. We had 20 attempts and eleven shots on target and Burnley’s total was five shots on target in the entire 90 minutes and they’ve scored two goals.
A fifth draw in a row means that the Hammers travel to Peterborough United for their game in-hand on Tuesday knowing only a victory will keep automatic promotion in their own hands.
Having said that, Sam Allardyce has quite rightly demanded that his strikers start finding the target sooner rather than later.
Big Sam said:
“The players have got to find the courage to take their chances. They have got to have the nerve, composure and professionalism to convert them into goals.
“We cannot wait any longer. We’ve got to put the ball in the net when we get the chances. Our conversion rate has to be a lot better.
Like all Hammers fans I do hope they come through at Peterborough and claim a victory – all this tense, nervy stuff is getting to me!
