Hammers keen on signing French striker Loic Remy

Rumours coming from The Daily Star suggest that West Ham United are nearing completion of a deal for French striker Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.

After having deals fall through in the shape of Columbian hit man Duvan Zapata over work permit issues, the West Ham manager wants to add a few additions looking ahead to the new season, which is just around the corner.

The Hammers are looking to add to their list of new recruits as well as club record signing Andy Carroll, who’ll most certainly miss the start of the new season through injury.

French star Loic Remy, has only been at QPR since January. The Frenchman has also netted 6 goals in 14 outings for the club. He came from French outfit Marseille and looks to be in Allardyce’s cross hairs after the Hammers failed to land 22 year old Zapata due to work permit problems.

It seems like Harry Redknap is itching to get Remy off their wage bill as he is costing the club a reported £70 k a week. The French star signed a four year deal with the Hoops costing QPR £8million. As Redknap’s team now find themselves in The Championship after relegation, the club is keen to move the player on.

26 year-old Loic Remy therefore looks certain to join the Hammers as Allardyce seeks out new additions to his West Ham United frontline.

The Hammers may have a fight on their hands as Newcastle are also pondering about a bid for Remy with some interest also reported from Tottenham, as they too, are looking to strengthen their forward line.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!

don’t look at what the best outcome could be, look at the worst, Carroll out injured (again), Remy in prison, just Maiga up front, if anyone. Is this the way to take The Irons into the top 8 of the Premier league. Start using your brains. You can’t afford £8M for another striker. Get someone in on loan, like last season, in fact get two in on loan, and choose the better of them to sign next season.

  2. I know people n the backroom staff at QPR. They say its a done deal in the region of £7m

Remy is currently on bail, with 5 ‘mates’ all accused of rape! Bail to be answered in September. Let’s hope if we buy him that he’s not banged up!!! Seems to be a good buy though!

  4. Come on remy join the hammers
