Slaven Bilic Must Move For Javier Hernandez This Summer

West Ham United failed to inspire confidence for the most part of last season, eventually finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table just one year after qualifying for the Europa League. The Dimitri Payet saga was an unwelcome distraction prior to his move back to Marseille and Slaven Bilic’s men never really recovered in what was a very disappointing campaign.

But that was then and this is now. To compete in England’s top flight, you have to spend money – it is as simple as that. One player who has attracted plenty of interest in the media this month is Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez. The former Manchester United man is looking to move back to the Premier League and reports claim that the Mexico star has a buyout clause of just £13 million.

Over his five-year tenure at Old Trafford, ‘Chicharito’ earned a reputation as one of the best poachers in the business. He scored a number of important goals for United, helping the Red Devils win two Premier League titles during his time at the club. Hernandez scored 33 goals in 77 league games – a decent return made even better when you remember that the Mexican came on as a substitute in 44 of those fixtures. [Read more…]

Lanzini earns maiden Argentina call up

Manuel Lanzini has been rewarded for his great form in West Ham colours with a maiden call up to the Argentine national team for their upcoming friendlies vs Brazil and Singapore next month.

Lanzini has represented Argentina at U20 level, but has never made a senior appearance for the Albiceleste.

We reckon this is well deserved for him- he was West Ham’s Players Player of the Season for 2016/17, and probably the club’s most creative player following the departure of Dimitri Payet. It took him a while to settle down, but he really came into his own in the 16/17 season.

It’s a strong Argentine squad- the likes of Lionel Messi, Mauro Icardi, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain are all in it. [Read more…]

Antonio named Hammer of the Year, Lanzini Players’ Player of the Year

Michail Antonio has been named the Hammer of the Year at the Player Awards ceremony at the Intercontinental. The 27 year old edged out Manuel Lanzini and Pedro Obiang to the award. Lanzini however did get the Players’ Player of the Year Award.

Edimilson Fernandes won the Signing of the Year award, perhaps a testament to how poor the club’s signings have been this season when the winner has started only 3 games.

Antonio, who has also been linked with a switch away from the London Stadium in the summer, also appeared to quell those rumours when he mentioned that “he’d like to win it again” in his acceptance speech. [Read more…]

The uniforms Dimitri Payet will be wearing next season- Adidas Marseille 17/18 Kits

The uniforms that former Hammer Dimitri Payet will be wearing for French giants Olympique Marseille next season have been released by Adidas. The French club have released all three of their uniforms at one go (white home, blue away and purple third) earlier today.

When will our kits be released? Only two Premier League sides have released their jerseys so far- Stoke and Liverpool [Read more…]

Watch Video- Manuel Lanzini’s Rabona Cross vs Everton

Check out this great piece of skill from West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini, one of the club’s standout players in yesterday’s goalless draw against Everton at the London Stadium, showing the Argentine attempting a rabona cross against Ronald Koeman’s side. Didn’t quite have the end result as Payet’s against Watford, but definitely worth a watch! [Read more…]
