Friday’s solitary Premier League clash sees West Ham host newbies Brighton at the London Stadium.

This is the third time West Ham have played a top flight fixture at home on a Friday, and encouragingly for their fans, both of those fixtures (against Coventry back in 1997 and against Spurs last season) ended in wins. The Hammers have lost only one of their last five games in all competitions, and coach Slaven Bilic will definitely be looking at this clash against the Seagulls as a great opportunity to put three points in the bag. Joe Hart becomes third highest capped England goalkeeper against Slovenia

Joe Hart now has more England caps than the legendary Gordon Banks! Hart achieved the feat earlier today evening in England’s World Cup qualifier against Slovenia at Wembley. He earned his 74th cap, thus overtaking Gordon Banks (73). Only David Seaman (75) and Peter Shilton (125) have more England caps than the West Ham goalkeeper. [Read more…]

Not surprisingly, substitutes Diafra Sakho and Arthur Masuaku have been rated highly for their contributions, while Mark Noble didn’t exactly crown himself in glory, according to the pundits. Post Match Report & Thoughts- West Ham v Swansea | Win that papers over the cracks?

Going into this game, West Ham had never failed to score at home against Swansea, finding the back of the net 74 times in 31 previous games against the Swans.

Going into this game, Swansea were yet to concede an away goal in the Premier League this season.

One of those two records was to be broken at the London Stadium, and for eighty nine minutes, it looked like the former, before substitutes Arthur Masuaku and Diafra Sakho combined for a goal that saw Swansea concede a late winner for the second Saturday in a row. [Read more…]

Player Watch (VIDEO)- Robert Snodgrass’ first Aston Villa goal (vs Burton Albion)

Winger Robert Snodgrass, currently on loan at Aston Villa from West Ham United, scored his first goal in AVFC colours earlier this evening (September 26, 2017) in their game away at Burton Albion. Villa won the game 4-0, with Snodgrass’ goal against Burton being their third of the fixture. Nice finish from the Scotland international, who had earlier in the game also provided an assist for Albert Adomah’s goal. He played the full 90 at the Pirelli Stadium. [Read more…]
