West Ham United stepped up their pre-season training this week and followed up their win over Cork in Ireland with a 3-0 victory at Boreham Wood.
Lots of transfer speculation again this week with the club being linked with a number of forwards as well as a few midfielder players, which is interesting as West Ham Manager Sam Allardyce has said the club are only looking for one more quality player, so is it a striker or midfielder? West Ham United fans received a timely boost with news that the clubs record signing Andy Carroll should be fit for the start of the season.
Carroll, 24, was signed from Liverpool for £15 million but has been struggling with a heel injury he picked up in the last game of season, with no prognosis of when he would be strutting his stuff for West Ham. [Read more…]
Ex Hammer and free agent Carlton Cole is apparently in Turkey trying to ply his trade with Besiktas. The 29 year old has even had talks with Beckham’s old team LA Galaxy for a move there.
Now, it looks like mighty Hull City are wanting a piece of Cole after a possible deal for Charlie Austin fell through because of a dodgy knee. [Read more…]
Stewart Downing, is he actually on West Ham United’s radar or is it just a load of red top balderdash as per usual?
Big Sam Allardyce’s assistant Neil McDonald was posed the Downing transfer question, however his answer has been taken a few different ways by members of the press with some insisting West Ham are holding a candle for Downing and others suggesting an interest snubbing rebuttal. [Read more…]
Following on from my Friday Transfer Update there has been a lot of noise coming out regarding West Ham United and possible transfers in and out at the club, but very little in the way of end product.
We was linked with Colombian striker Duvan Zapata at the weekend when The Mirror reported that we had already had a fee accepted for the striker for around £6.7 million, however it appears to have gone very quite on that front. [Read more…]
