The big man has finally arrived at West Ham and the fans are happy after the Hammers shelled out a record-breaking £16million for the striker.
24 year old Carroll signed a 6 year deal which makes him a permanent Hammer which will pocket the big man a rather nice £100 grand a week. Andy Carroll will now look forward to spear heading the team and lead them when they finally move into their olympic Stadium in 2016.
Carroll had this to say about his move: “It’s fantastic for me to be here. I really enjoyed last season and that shows in me coming back and making it permanent.
“The fans, the lads and the club itself have been great to me — and I wanted to come back here and play football.
“Since the end of the season I’ve had a lot of time to think, I’ve missed it and that’s why I’m back.
“Getting promoted the season before last, then finishing where we did… we did great and it can only get better for us.
“The way the club’s being run, obviously getting the new stadium and everything like that, it’s only going up.”
His old club Liverpool stand to make a hefty loss on the striker who signed for them from Newcastle just over two years ago for £35m. He managed to net 7 goals for Sam Allardyce’s team last season but was plagued by a hamstring injury that kept him off the pitch.
He passed a tough medical before signing for the Hammers on tuesday evening and look set to join fellow teammates for training on 1st July.
Andy Carroll will do very well at the club and we think he’s a real asset. At 6ft 3in, the Geordie lad causes all sorts of problems for other teams, especially in the air. COYI!
