Even More Forwards Linked

Another day and another batch of forward players are being linked with a move to West Ham United to ply their trade at the magical Boleyn Ground.

In the last few weeks I have lost count in the strikers West Ham were on the verge of signing, with deals having apparently been lined up for Bony, Lukaku, Remy, Kalou, Ba and Colombian Duvan Zapata, all of which have failed to materialize and these are just the players I can remember off the top of my head.

With West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce confirming yesterday that he is definitely looking at bringing one further player in to strengthen the squad, the media has already linked West Ham with a further two forwards today.

Marko Arnautovic

The Daily Mail have said that West Ham are chasing Werder Bremen striker Marko Arnautovic, 24, the former Inter Milan forward is 6ft 3in but has great pace and skill.

However this deal looks to be dead with Jack Sullivan announcing on Twitter that although a deal was done with his agent he looks set to move to Spain instead.

Jiloan Hamad

Hamad has been touted around all week as being the right-sided player West Ham are chasing, the Swedish international plays for Malmo and was on show last night against Swansea, however Malmo were spanked so I don’t think it was a great game for Hamad to showcase his talents.

The player has been getting some fantastic reviews back in Sweden and TalkSport believe the player is ready to test himself at a higher level in The Premiership.

I know Allardyce has stated he is only looking for one further player, but the players we have been linked with are either out-and-out strikers like Remy or more wingers such as Hamad, so I think two more players are on the agenda to bolster the forward line.

Hopefully we can get our transfer dealings finished sooner rather than later, I prefer it when the players have time to bed in with the team for a few weeks at least rather than the deadline day scramble we have had in the past.

  1. Everybody and their dog are linked at the moment. Maybe not a bad thing as it may throw other clubs off the scent of who our real targets are.

A real shame we didn’t get Wilfred Bony. I think he’ll be the signing of the season.

Not sure Kalou will join as I can’t see Sam Allardyce playing two up front. Once AC is fit he’ll be the no.1 striker which, I don’t think, will sit well with Kalou.

It’s the hardest position to fill, Striker, so I guess I’ll just have to put trust in the club to get the best possible signing. It’s all we can do really.

Bony would have been excellent, but I think if we are planning to play 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 again then everyone will know that AC is likely to be Big Sam’s clear choice to start, so with only one strikers position available and someone else already nailed on for it I think it will be tough to get a quality player in as they are not going to want to sit on the bench or play second fiddle all season.

Unless Sam has plans of shaking his formation up this season I think we would be better to focus on a quality right winger and maybe have Maiga as the backup striker who can also fill in out wide it needed.

Agree we will sign two players; winger and striker. One probably a loan. Major need to shift Taylor out, though.

  3. Ausie John says

From all the players mentioned the players l would love for the hammers to buy Emmanuel Emeneki , and to loan Kalou that would be a perfect duo to come into our squad
