Hammers to begin season with trip to Anfield

Manuel Pellegrini’s first league game as West Ham manager will see his side make the trip north to Anfield to take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. The Hammers have a home fixture against Bournemouth sandwiched between two tough games away at Liverpool and Arsenal respectively.

Post Match Thoughts Carabao Cup Quarterfinal- Cresswell at right back, Hammers bow out

This wasn’t a very high quality game, and so we feel, doesn’t warrant as long a review as we normally do. The bottom line though- West Ham are out at the quarterfinal stage of the League Cup for the second season running, with Arsenal edging them 1-0 at the Emirates to book a semifinal clash against Chelsea. Perhaps an opportunity missed for the visitors one could say- Gunners boss Arsene Wenger made 11 changes to his side, with one eye clearly on Friday’s league clash against Liverpool. [Read more…]

Post Match Analysis, Thoughts & Match Report- West Ham v Arsenal 2017

If you’d told West Ham fans before these three games that they’d come to within seven minutes of beating Man City at the Etihad, see off defending champions Chelsea and hold Arsenal to a goalless stalemate, they’d have bitten your hands off. As it is, things look far brighter for the Hammers after a draw against Arsenal, while for the Gunners, it looks set to be another disappointing league season.

David Moyes opted to keep faith with the same side that had done the business against Chelsea. James Collins returned to the bench after an injury layoff, but Moyes persisted with the troika of Reid, Ogbonna and Cresswell that had fared very well as a partnership against Antonio Conte’s side.
