Tuesday Update

Lots going on with West Ham regarding players but very little official news coming through.

Let’s kick off with Andy Carroll, everywhere was buzzing yesterday with lots of respectable sources suggesting it was a done deal with £2 Million being paid up front for the loan of Carroll for the season, with a further £17 Million to be paid subject to West Ham retaining their Premier League status, however rumours are the player himself is reluctant to head to West Ham, although nothing has been confirmed by Carroll himself.

Not sure about this personally, I feel we have been courting the player who has shown little or no desire to come to us, so maybe time to put this to bed and focus on quality players who do want to play for West Ham.

As I understand this deal is now dead and we will not be pursuing this further.

Ivan Ramis

The player is apparently having a medical at Upton Park today and a deal will hopefully be confirmed in the next 24 hours.

James Collins

A fee has been agreed with Aston Villa to bring ‘The Ginger Pele’ back to West Ham, I always rated Collins so am happy to see him heading back to ply his trade in claret and blue.

Sebastian Boenisch

The Polish international full back is in discussions with West Ham after leaving Werder Bremen last month.

Demba Ba

No news on the player but his contract stipulates a £7 Million release clause until midnight tonight, surely worth activating as the man is a goal scorer, not sure if he would come back to West Ham but definitely worth a punt in my opinion.

Finally

I can’t help but think the whole Andy Carroll pantomime is really a smoke screen for other signings, I think it’s obvious he has no interest in joining us so hopefully we’re working on signing someone like Demba Ba or even Dimitar Berbatov behind the scenes.

What about you guys? What’s your view on our transfer dealings and who would you like us to bring in?

Andy Carroll Transfer Agreed

Breaking news is that West Ham have agreed a deal for Andy Carroll.

Reports are coming out that West Ham have agreed a £2 Million deal for Carroll to join on loan initially with a fee of £17 Million to be paid at the end of the season.

Very good sources are backing this up, however SkySports news are reporting that West Ham have denied that any has been done and the players agent is distancing himself from the deal.

Liverpool Accept Bid

More coming out this morning about this transfer is that Liverpool accepted the offer from West Ham for Andy Carroll but the player himself is not interested in a permanent move to Upton Park.

Carroll is thought to favour a return to Newcastle for obvious reasons, but sources close to the player have suggested he will only leave Liverpool for an English club playing in Europe. Quite high standards from a man who could not hit a barn door most of last season and whose club is willing to take a massive loss on him.

Monday Talking Points

Lots to discuss today from friendly results, possible transfers and the Olympic GB team.

Lets start with Ivan Ramic, reports started surfacing over the weekend that West Ham were looking to gazump Wigan to his signature, and this was backed up on Sunday with Mallorca stating on their website they accepted a bid from West Ham for the player – Read More Here – but this morning I am hearing reports that Roberto Martinez has personally got involved and has now swayed the players decision to instead move to the JJB. Could it be like Eidur Gudjohnsen all over again!

Andy Carroll

From being the man Brendan Rodgers couldn’t wait to show the door to, with Rodgers seemingly willing to carry the player on his back to any club that batted it’s eyelids at him, there now seems to be a bizarre U-turn from the Liverpool boss who was quoted saying:

“There has been a lot written about Andy, but you saw today he’s happy to be here and he’s worked very well since he’s been here.

“The reality is he’s still a Liverpool player, he can fit into how I want to play, and he’s happy here.

“I’m certainly not wishing to push him out of the door.”

Bit of an odd turn around, seeing as Carroll was deemed a player who would not play the beautiful football Rodgers wants to implement, maybe it’s a case of the reds manager trying to use an industrial sized drum to drum up some more interest in the player?

James Tomkins Performances

I was expecting good things from our young CB at the Olympic Games, telling all and sundry who didn’t know about him that West Ham have a classy defender coming through and that their teams can keep their grubby little mits off him. Well I think Tomkins must not want any interest in himself as he has hardly covered himself with glory, I hope he has some better games as we don’t really need a player coming back for the start of the new season low on confidence!

Weekend Friendly Game

This weekend saw The Hammers come up against the mighty German team Energie Cottbus and walk away with a 2-2 draw after being 2-0 down to Ze Germans.

Sam Baldock was on target again which is becoming a familiar sight this pre-season, however it was the on trial Colin Kazim-Richards who scored the goal of the match with a volley from outside the box, cheeky!

Sam Baldock

Speaking of the little man, reports circulating today are that Bristol have had a bid of £1.5 Million accepted for him, if true I am assuming Allardyce only has room for one striker of his type and chose to keep Nicky Maynard.

Andy Carroll To West Ham Transfer Rumour Continues

Reports in all the papers today suggest West Ham United have shattered their transfer bid record with a £17 Million move for Liverpool Striker Andy Carroll.

Carroll, 23,  is thought to be deemed as surplus to requirements by new Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers who is keen to recoup as much of the record breaking £35 Million the club spent bringing the player in from Newcastle.

The rumour mill went into overdrive a few days ago with West Ham Co-Owner David Sullivan’s son tweeting:

Everyone thought it to be Carroll straight away and it now looks like this is confirmed.

There are however different takes on how West Ham plan on paying for the striker, with some suggesting an initial £2 Million to take the player on loan with a further £17 Million to be paid to complete the permanent transfer at the end of the season, with others suggesting a straight up cash offer.

Knowing our board I think the loan move with a permanent transfer should West Ham stay in the Premier League to be more likely.

Even though Kevin Nolan has no doubt been in Carroll’s ear, it’s thought that he would prefer a move back to Newcastle first and foremost, but if they fail to stump up the fee then he would look at our offer.

Andy Carroll To West Ham?

The rumour mill and Twitter universe are going crazy today especially after a tweet from West Ham Co-Owner David Sullivan’s  son which flamed the fires even further!

While the young Sullivan doesn’t give any player name it appears to be Andy Carroll if the the internet is to be believed.

How about any of you guys? Have you heard anything that backs this up or have a friends Nan who works in the kitchen at Upton Park who has heard it’s true?
