Referee announced for Watford game- West Ham have lost last four under him!

West Ham will be looking to claim their fifth win on the bounce when they host Watford this weekend. To win five in a row, the Hammers will have to reverse a losing trend under the referee for this game- Lee Mason, who will be in charge of this fixture at the London Stadium.

West Ham have lost their last four games with him in the middle- two at home and two on the road.

West Ham picked up a 2-0 win over Fulham over the weekend, rising to 9th in the table by virtue of their victory over Claudio Ranieri’s side. The Hammers, as mentioned by manager Manuel Pellegrini after the game, didn’t create too many chances, but were clinical with the few that they created.

While the likes of Garth Crooks (BBC) and Danny Mills (Sky) didn’t have any West Ham players in their TOTW, Jamie Redknapp and Robbie Savage thought a couple of Hammers did merit representation in their team. [Read more…]

Media Player Ratings- How did West Ham’s players fare against the Cottagers?

West Ham continued their good run of form with a 2-0 win away at Craven Cottage against Fulham on Saturday evening. The victory, the Hammers’ fourth in a row, took them to 9th spot in the league, just two adrift of sixth place Manchester United.

Robert Snodgrass, having scored his first league goal for the club last weekend against Palace, curled in a beauty on 14 minutes to put the visitors ahead after a three pass sequence had effectively torn Fulham apart, while Michail Antonio took advantage of some non existent marking to double their advantage in the 29th minute.

Pellegrini made only one change to the side that had beaten Palace, with Antonio coming into the XI to partner Javier Hernandez after Lucas Perez’s foot injury had ruled the Spaniard out. [Read more…]

Super Fab, Will 4-4-2 continue and more- Five Talking Points from Fulham v West Ham

West Ham claimed their fourth straight Premier League win as they beat bottom of the table Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. The victory was secured thanks to first half goals from Robert Snodgrass and Michail Antonio, with Fulham awful in defence and lacklustre going forward despite having more of the ball in the second half.

Fulham 0-2 West Ham Match Report | Abject Cottagers defending hands Hammers fourth straight win

New Fulham manager Claudio Ranieri has massive, massive problems. His side created far more chances (16 shots to West Ham’s 6), but were let down by two horror moments of first half defending. West Ham didn’t have too many chances, but as Manuel Pellegrini remarked after the game, clinically took the ones they had. It’s the hallmark of a good team, and the Hammers moved into the top ten with a 2-0 win at Craven Cottage- their fourth straight victory on the bounce.

Pellegrini made only one change, bringing in Michail Antonio upfront for the injured Lucas Perez. Fulham had Andre Frank Anguissa suspended and Ryan Sessegnon injured, and Ranieri brought in Calum Chambers and Aboubakar Kamara into the starting lineup. The Italian chose to keep faith with the same backline that had struggled against Man Utd, which in hindsight, proved to be a terrible decision.
