West Ham United went down 3-1 last night to London rivals Fulham who have now leapfrogged West Ham in the league table.
Fulham opened the scoring in the 10th minute with Dimitar Berbatov putting the ball in the back of the net with his head from close range, the major gripe for West Ham fans was that it was blatantly offside with the Bulgarian looking sheepishly at the linesman waiting for the offside flag which never came! Tonight’s clash against Fulham could be a turning point for West Ham after their disastrous last outing against Arsenal where they lost 5-1.
Fulham won’t be a pushover tonight and the Hammers need to stay focused against Martin Jol’s side as they have only managed to squeeze 2 wins out of 15 games and would be looking to change their fortunes against Allardyce’s men. West Ham United completed the capture of Austrian international defender Emanuel Pogatetz on loan until the end of the season.
Pogatetz has the nickname ‘Mad Dog’ after his aggressive defending won over the Middlesbrough fans during his 5-year spell with them and was confirmed a West Ham player by WHUFC.com last night. [Read more…]
