Leander Dendoncker to West Ham?- Hammers interested in rising Belgian star

West Ham are apparently interested in securing the services of rising Belgian star Leander Dendoncker, with manager David Moyes identifying midfield as a place requiring serious reinforcements for the Irons. Dendoncker was linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer window, but the switch didn’t materialise, with the Red Devils ending up signing Nemanja Matic from rivals Chelsea.

The 22 year old is a versatile player, capable of featuring in both midfield and defence, and reportedly has his heart set on a move out of Belgium after watching teammate Youri Tielemans transfer to French champions Monaco.

Giving the poor current form of Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang, Dendoncker would almost certainly be guaranteed a starting spot at the London Stadium, which will certainly not hurt his cause of making it to the Belgian national team for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.

Anderlecht do not want to sell their prized asset, but with his mind set on a move, will not stand in his way if the right offer comes in- reportedly around the £20m mark.

The Hammers have already been linked with the likes of Francis Coquelin, Jack Wilshere and Alfie Mawson as Moyes aims to give his side the necessary depth required for a top 10 finish.
