New deal on cards for Allardyce if Hammers stay up

Big Sam Allardyce will be offered a new deal in the summer if he manages to keep West Ham United in the Premier League.

Allardyce’s new deal offered by the Hammers would be in the region of £1.5 – 2 Million. This is provided he can turn things around at the club and edge us forward as we are currently in 13th position.

A Hammers source revealed:

“If the club stays up, Sam will be offered a new deal.
“He will have brought us up in a season and kept us up — it gets no better than that.
“The club needs stability and he will have brought that. Another two years of the same kind of progress is exactly what’s required.
“However, if we were relegated he would have to accept a big pay cut and that probably wouldn’t be acceptable.”

There’s been a lot of unrest at the Boleyn ground just recently in the wake of the Hammers poor performances and many a West Ham fan are questioning whether Big Sam is the man to carry on the job.

A lot of whispers even pointed to bringing West Ham United legend Paolo Di Canio back to the club to try and turn things around. Di Canio recently quit League One outfit Swindon where the Italian was the highest paid manager on £450,000 a year.

West Ham are currently in 13th position in the league table after 26 games. To put this into perspective, there are only four teams below us before we hit the dropzone dogfight: Sunderland, Southampton, Newcastle and Wigan.

Aston Villa Reading and QPR, who got beaten by Manchester United yesterday 0-2 at home, are already duking it out with hopes of staying up next season.

Another point to reflect on is the fact that the Hammers have 30 points to their name while Aston Villa in 18th position have 24 – only 6 points in it – scary stuff!

At the end of the day, most Hammer fans are grateful for to Big Sam for getting the club back where it belongs and the big question on everyone’s lips is this:

Should we say cheers Big Sam and let him jog on or do we chance it and hope he keeps us in the Premiership? Thoughts please….

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable!
