West Ham this morning have signed George McCartney on a permanent two-year contract.
The left-back returns to The Boleyn for the third time, following a two-year spell between 2006 and 2008, as well as a season long loan season last year where he was a solid defender for us.
Speaking with WHUFC.com McCartney said:
“I am delighted to be coming back to West Ham and this time on a permanent basis.”
“It was great to be part of the side that won promotion for the club last season. It was a fantastic way to end the campaign last year and I am really looking forward to being back in the Premier League with West Ham.”
McCartney found himself surplus to requirements at Sunderland and boss Martin O’Neill was happy to let him move on.
Welcome back George let’s hope you have a great season.
