Hammers Linked With Barca Striker

Is it Lionel Messi? David Villa? Pedro?

No, none of the above, we can dream can’t we? West Ham are however being linked with a move for Barcelona ‘B’ striker Jonathan Soriano.

The 26-year-old striker scored 32 goals in Spain’s second flight last season as he fired Barcelona B team into the play off’s.

And according to Mundo Deportivo the Hammers are just one of up to ten clubs to express their interest in signing the player, with a list that includes German and Portuguese clubs.

With Sam Allardyce looking to reinforce our goal shy forward line this guy could be the answer, whispers are his contract is up in June so he would be low cost and low risk!

West Hams European Record Trumped By Barca

West Ham United’s 30-year-old European record was finally beaten by Spanish champions FC Barcelona.

The current Champions League holders equalled West Ham’s unique record of scoring in 27 consecutive European ties last month with a 3-2 win against Milan, meaning that should they have scored against FC BATE in the Nou Camp the record would be theirs.

Unfortunately Barca found their scoring boots as they always do with the plethora of attacking talent at their disposal, and they have now moved on to 28 having finally overturned The Hammers unique record.

Well done Barcelona (through gritted teeth!)
