West Ham take on Newcastle in the first Premier League game of the weekend, and here’s an interesting little stat ahead of this clash at the London Stadium.
The last 12 league meetings between the Hammers and the Magpies have ALL produced at least two or more goals, and one has to go back to 2014 for the last time there were fewer than two goals in this fixture.

The Magpies actually did the double over West Ham last season, first winning 2-0 at the London Stadium and then prevailing 3-2 at home after Craig Dawson was sent off late in the first half. The Hammers had previously done the double over Newcastle in 2018/19– the first time in 20 years that they had managed to do so.
West Ham come into this game on the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw against Leicester which saw a first yellow card of the season for Aaron Cresswell while Newcastle beat Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa 1-0 last week.
