West Ham v Huddersfield predictions- What do the pundits think?

After last week’s horror show at Cardiff, West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping for an instant response from his players in this GW31 clash against Huddersfield. The Hammers have been far better at home than on the road, and will be bidding to win three consecutive home games for the first time at the London Stadium.

Bottom of the table Huddersfield look set for the drop- they are 16 points from safety currently with eight games to play. Pellegrini could shake up things a bit, potentially recalling both Marko Arnautovic and Fabian Balbuena to the starting XI and perhaps even Samir Nasri and Michail Antonio.

The referee for this game is Jonathan Moss under whom the Hammers have a fine recent record- they’re unbeaten in their last six Premier League games under the 48 year old. HTAFC’s two games with Moss in charge this season have both ended in defeat.

What do the pundits predict for this WHUFC Huddersfield game? Let’s take a look.

Mark Lawrenson: Lawro says that West Ham were “nowhere to be seen in Wales” and “were awful”. However he reckons that kind of performance shouldn’t happen again, more so as they’re playing at home. Has gone for a 2-0 Hammers win.

CO: His celebrity opponents this weekend, Radio 1 DJ Danny and cyclist Laura Kenny have gone for 4-0 and 5-0 wins to the Hammers respectively.

Charlie Nicholas: Sky have Charlie Nicholas making the predictions this weekend instead of Paul Merson. Charlie’s gone for a 3-0 win to West Ham and also has predicted that Marko Arnautovic will bag a brace.

Robbie Savage: Savage has mirrored Lawro’s prediction- a 2-0 win for the home side.

Michael Owen: Owen reckons the Hammers will be too strong for the Terriers, and has backed Manuel Pellegrini at a -1 handicap.

Summary of predictions

Lawro: West Ham 2-0 Huddersfield
CO: West Ham 4-0 Huddersfield and west Ham 5-0 Huddersfield
Savage: West Ham 2-0 Huddersfield
Owen: Hammers on a -1 handicap
