Fulham v West Ham Predictions- How do the pundits think the Hammers will fare this weekend?

West Ham will lock horns against Fulham in the Premier League for the first time in nearly five years when the two sides meet at Craven Cottage this weekend. The last meeting between the two sides, on New Year’s day in the 2013/14 season, went 2-1 in favour of the Cottagers.

Manuel Pellegrini has announced that Jack Wishere will again miss out owing to injury and that Lucas Perez, who was subbed off at half time against Palace, is also doubtful.

If Perez doesn’t recover in time, a lot will depend on Hernandez and Andy Carroll upfront. There’s also a chance fans may get to see young Xande Silva in action.

With the Hammers looking for their fourth league win in a row, let’s see what the pundits feel about their chances.

Mark Lawrenson: Lawro says that while West Ham have won three consecutive games, they are a team who “can suffer a hiccup from time to time” and adds he wouldn’t be surprised if Fulham found a way of winning this one. Has gone for a 2-1 win to FFC.

Lawro’s celeb opponent this weekend is former Spurs legend David Ginola, who predicts the Hammers will win 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

Paul Merson: Merson thinks Fulham “concede too many goals” and adds that West Ham have “good individual players who can win football matches”.

West Ham have scored three goals the most this season, and Merson is backing them to win again and score three goals for the fourth consecutive game in a row. Has predicted a 3-1 win to the Hammers.

Michael Owen: Owen reckons this will be an “entertaining and feisty London derby” and has gone with a scoring draw for this clash.

Summary of predictions

Lawro: Fulham 2-1 West Ham
Ginola: Fulham 0-1 West Ham
Merson: Fulham 1-3 West Ham
Owen: Scoring draw in an entertaining clash.

Looks like this is a tough one to call for the pundits- West Ham can be iffy on the road, and Fulham have improved a bit under new manager Claudio Ranieri and also have home advantage. We’ve got two West Ham wins, one Fulham win and one draw!
