Wilshere to West Ham | Hammers confirm 4th signing under Pellegrini

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of midfielder Jack Wilshere on a free transfer. The 26 year old, who supported the Hammers as a boy, was a free agent after leaving Arsenal at the end of the 2017/18 season. Wilshere, who was with the Gunners for 17 years, was told by new manager Unai Emery that he did not feature prominently in the latter’s plans for the upcoming season.

Wilshere was linked with a switch to Fenerbahce (apparently a deal that offered more money), but a late intervention from new West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini, plus the chance to continue staying in London, saw the deal swing the Hammers’ way.

What is the length of Wilshere’s West Ham contract?

He has signed a three year contract till the end of the 2020/21 season

Wilshere becomes Pellegrini’s fourth signing of the summer at the London Stadium after Lukasz Fabianski, Ryan Fredericks and Issa Diop. The club are also in negotiations with Lazio for the transfer of Felipe Anderson.
