WC update- Hernandez’s Mexico stun defending champions Germany

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez played the full 90 as his Mexican side stunned reigning champions Germany in Moscow. It was the first time that Germany had lost an opening game in the defence of their World title, with Hirving Lozano’s 35th minute strike sinking Die Mannschaft.

Chicharito was in tears at the end of the game- this was a massive win for Mexico’s Ro16 hopes (Sweden and Korea are the other two teams in their group).
