West Ham Andre Frank Anguissa | Hammers among clubs interested in Cameroon international

West Ham are reportedly among a host of Premier League clubs interested in Marseille’s young defensive midfielder Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa. The 22 year old Cameroonian was part of the Indomitable Lions squad that took part in the Confederations Cup in Russia last year and was also Man of the Match in their draw against the Socceroos.

The Hammers apparently face competition from Newcastle, Watford and West Bromwich Albion, the last of whom have already had a 15 million euro bid rejected by Marseille. Albion moving for Anguissa would also perhaps mean the end of Grzegorz Krychowiak’s stint at the Hawthorns.

West Ham do need to shore up their midfield and have been linked with the likes of William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon) and Leander Dendoncker (RSC Anderlecht) in the past, but neither player has arrived at the London Stadium so far.

Anguissa joined Marseille from Reims and has flourished at the Velodrome after Rudi Garcia took over the reigns at OM. Garcia, in a recent interview to L’Equipe, mentioned that the young midfielder had plenty of potential, and had all the ingredients to be a star.
