West Ham to auction off match worn shirts from Tottenham game for charity

West Ham have announced that they will auction off match worn shirts after this weekend’s derby against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, with all proceeds going to charity.

The proceeds from the auction will go to the YoXMexico foundation, an initiative launched by Hammers striker Javier Hernandez and his Mexican compatriot Miguel Layun, to help those hit by the recent earthquakes in Mexico.

Hammers chairman David Gold has also announced that they will match any donations raised from the auction.

Given the recent PR disasters surrounding the club (especially after the failed William Carvalho transfer), this looks like a step in the right direction.
