West Ham have completed the signing of full back Alvaro Arbeloa on a free transfer. The veteran right back has inked a one year contract with the Hammers, who view the 33 year old as mentor to young Sam Byram.
Arbeloa was previously with Liverpool, making the Hammers his second Premier League club, and has won both the World Cup and the Champions League during his tenure at Real Madrid.
Arbeloa added that Slaven Bilic was a key factor in him moving to London, with fellow Real Madrid teammates Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic speaking very highly of the former.
Arbeloa is primarily a right-back who can also operate on the left, and his arrival will free Michail Antonio of his defensive responsibilities.
