Sullivan reveals that West Ham have made a 30 million euro bid for a player

David Sullivan has revealed to Sky Sports News that West Ham have put in a 30 million euro bid for a player. He also mentioned that the Hammers were ready to make another £20m-25m bid for a striker in England later this week, and could spend as much as £50m on transfers this summer.

Is the 30 million euro player Batshuayi? Or is it Lacazette? Sullivan quoting the figures in Euros would indicate a foreign player.

Either way, it is a statement of intent and will put all player agents into active-mode as they know West Ham are seriously interested in a striker and are ready to stump up cash.

Here is his full quote, for those interested

We put in a bid today for €30m (£23.7m) for a player and other bids will be going in. We are going to make a £20m or £25m bid for a player in England this week. So whatever happens, we’ll bring a top striker in. “It’s a statement of intent. We’ll spend between £30m-£50m on transfers this summer. But you’ve got to build it up gradually. You can’t compete with the likes of Manchester United overnight. “We might have to put our own money in – we’ve done it before – but we hope we’re clever enough for the €30m bid
