Sullivan reveals West Ham asked for Harry Kane in exchange for Cheikhou Kouyate

West Ham chairman David Sullivan has revealed that the club asked for Harry Kane in exchange when Spurs came shopping for Cheikhou Kouyate last summer. The Lilywhites tabled an unsuccessful £15m bid for the medio as Mauricio Pochettino, a big fan of the Senegal international , looked to bolster his side.

Sullivan said Spurs asked “What would you take for Kouyate?” to which he replied, “We said we’d take Harry Kane. Silence on the other end of the line”

Kouyate inked a new five year deal in March after another stellar season for the Hammers.
