Tomkins dreaming of Wembley glory

With a morale boosting 3-2 win over Premier League new boys Cardiff City, West Ham United have made certain of a place in the last 16 of the Capital One Cup.

Hammers defender James Tomkins said: “We think we can do well. We’ve got a good squad and for the players who played and haven’t been involved in too many first team games, it is good fitness for us.

“We’re trying to fight for our places in the team. Hopefully we’ll have a bit of a run in it.”

Meanwhile, 24 year old Hammers midfielder Jack Collison is confident that helping the East London club’s bid for Wembley glory will boost his chances of a first-team place.

Collison has only played six minutes in the Premier league this season but has manage to get a start for both league cup games.

West Ham United managed to tame the Cardiff boys with a particularly good performance from new Spanish keeper Adrian, who kept the visitors out of his net.

But it was Collison who helped West Ham to glory with his cross to provide want away striker Ricardo Vaz Te with a golden opportunity to nod home the winner.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!
