Carlton Cole set for dramatic return to Upton Park

Ex Hammer Carlton Cole is currently undergoing a medical with a view to rejoining the East London club on a short-term basis.

It may be good news for Hammers’ fans as Carlton Cole is allowed to sign outside the transfer window as he has the status of “unattached player”.

According to Sports Direct News, the forward will rejoin the club he left at the end of last season providing he passes a medical at the Hammers’ Chadwell Heath training ground.

Cole has apparently agreed terms with his ex club until January 2014 when the Hammers can start looking for a long-term replacement.

Many fans would regard this as a shock U-turn for Cole who was allowed to leave the club after rejecting a £40,000 two-year contract last year.

Obviously, neither Sam Allardyce nor the West Ham United board have divulged what Cole’s terms are although it is understood that getting the player back within the fold has made the club push the boat out as far as possible concerning their finances.

Sources had this to say about the move for Carlton Cole: “The manager is already looking at striker targets for January but players will have to be moved out for any deals to be done. It’s living life with eyes closed to pretend FFP is not with us. It is.”

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!

Comments

  1. Welcome back Carlton loyal player shouldn’t have gone at all I’m one happy hammer with this news

  2. Nothing but a joke, still have no one up front who can provide the goals. They had months to get his sorted, but decided to get a wide player rather than a goalscorer, talk about getting you priorities mixed up. Bringing back CC does not solve any of our problems up front, so forgive me for not jumping for joy. I will get behind the team but let’s not lie the mgt team have failed miserably to cover our gaps.

  3. We’ll what can I say !!!
We we’re after everyone and got no-one, maybe investing in a negotiator would have been an idea, as quite a few of the players we went after, have now gone to rivals 🙁

However, Carlton Cole is possibly coming back, Let’s hope he finally proves all the doubters wrong, including me, and scores and assists loads of goals, as I can’t see Carroll staying fit all season unfortunately

  4. Just read that the ffp rules do not kick in until next season and we could of brought anyone in and offloaded in January to still be safe for when they do kick in, west ham fans clearly have been cheated and get Carlton cole back utterly rediculous
