No offers for Vaz Te and no signings in pipeline says Allardyce

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has said there has been no bids from Cardiff City for Portuguese star Ricardo Vaz Te despite speculation the Premier League new boys were interested in him.

According to Sky Sports, Allardyce has also put the dampeners on signing any more players by the end of the transfer window stating that he has no more cash to splash after the signings of Carroll, Downing and Razvan Rat.

Allardyce said: “There’s no official bid from Cardiff for Ricardo Vaz Te. It always happens at this time of year – it’s just agents getting busy.”

The Portuguese player has been at the Boleyn ground since January 2012 scoring a total of 12 goals during the Hammers’ Championship season in 2011/2012. Ricardo Vaz Te also netted the late winner that put the club back in top flight football in the play-off final.

Vaz Te has not been the same since joining the Premier League and has been unable to recreate the same form he had when he scored 22 goals for both Barnsley and West Ham during their Championship season. The lad scored just 3 goals out of 24 appearances last year and has been found wanting.

When the Hammers boss was questioned about the possibility of any new faces turning up at the Boleyn ground before the end of August, Allardyce reiterated that there would be no chance as all the available funds had been spent earlier on Carroll, Downing and Rat.

Allardyce finished up by saying: “Not unless the chairman has found some money he hasn’t told me about.”

“I’ve got no more money left, so the squad I’ve got is the squad I’ve got.”

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!

I bloody knew it, as soon as it was announced we had signed AC on a permanent deal – I knew this would happen. What’s that saying about all your eggs in one basket…..oh, dear just when I was starting to believe we were making progress as a club we go and spend all our pocket money in one go at the sweet shop…and on one sweet. Even Cardiff, Hull and Palace have been spending bigger (and better) than us. I thought Arsenal were making mugs of themselves in the transfer market this time, but we are running them a close second.

  2. Right, expected more of Allardyce and the board, coming out with excuses now….

  3. Not good enough and very unimpressed, we have no goal scoring striker and he is happy with the squad!!!!!! Very naive transfer activity!!
