Could This Be The Mystery Player?

The ever reliable Jack Sullivan ‘Tweeted’ that West Ham can expect to sign a right-sided forward within the next 48 hours, with it being confirmed that it will not be Matej Vydra or Solomon Kalou; its got many West Ham fans thinking.

This brings me to ex Leeds United winger/forward Max Gradel, Currently playing in Ligue 1 for St-Eitenne, Max picked up where he left off and has continued putting in some fine performances; scoring a few goals along the way. Gradel can play on the wing and just off of Carroll so his versatility would be appealing to Sam Allardyce.

Although St-Eitenne are not overly keen on letting the player go; things can happen quickly in football.

We were looking at Gradel a couple of years back and a deal looked imminent-but sadly nothing happened, so its safe to say that the scouting team and Big Sam are already familiar with Max’s abilities.

My personal view on Max Gradel, is what a great signing he could be; until this so-called mystery player is announced we can only speculate but I feel that Gradel would tick all the right boxes.

Since leaving Leeds he has continued improving and still only 25 years of age, it could be argued that he’s lack of Premier League experience would be unappealing to a club of our growing statue but I think the bigger gamble would be letting this one go.

Is Gradel the missing link we are currently searching for?

Who do you think the mystery player could be?

Let me know what you think!

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!

  1. Father Christmas and Elvis both scored and got men of the match award when Spurs under 18’s played us.

  2. I heard it might be Father Christmas or even elvis but then again my sources could be wrong……coyi just sign Rhodes and Sinclair job done

  3. Kenny McEvoy?

  4. every hour it is this player that player, the gaffer is either going to surprise
us all,or we could end up with sod all

    • nice shout pete getting pissed off with the whole situation should have snapped these players up early and taken them to germany lets hope we r pleasently surprised with the outcome.

  5. its definately (fingers crossed) the nigerian international Eminike who plays with Moscow !!! But i’d also like to think its Scott Sinclair or Odemwingie. It’s definately not Remi, he’s on a rape charge/investigation at the moment so Sullivan and Gold clearly arent going anywhere near him

  6. There has been a lot of noise towards it being Raheem Stirling, him and Morrison are best pals and both updated twitter saying they had just seen each other. Then again on twitter LFC transfer news mentioned Raheem Sterling is leaving on loan. There was also a reputable Telegraph colomist saying Stirling is coming to West Ham. Great news IMO if he does. Still need another striker though

  7. Why don’t we go for Darren Bent, proven goal scorer who would compliment Carroll

  8. It’s Loic Remy

  9. *Twitter (not Facebook)

  10. It might be a co-incidence that Scott Sinclair posted on Facebook yesterday that he is looking forward to a new start. So could it be him??? SC

  11. Tony Hammer says

I sincerely hope it is Malmo midfielder and captain Jiloan Hamad

  12. I have also heard that it will be Sterling on loan.

  13. I know its ronaldo lmfao not really

but i will say im truly unhappy with these transfer prospects we have let to many youth players leave westham i would like use to put fanimo on the wing and breed him into the prospect he could become huge

Fergie did it with man utd but we dont and its frustrating spend spend spend no rewards time for a youth academy like we are known for

  14. Ince

  15. lets hope its hamad from malmo plays on the right age 22 cracking prospect go onto knees up mother brown to watch him. come on mr sullivan u have a look too.

  16. Kebe from Reading

  17. It’s an interesting call, I just wonder at the age of 25 is he still a prospect rather than a good signing, what I mean by this is, that Jack’s tweet inferred it was a younger player, whilst Max is young compared to me, he’s not so young in football terms, but nonetheless a good player.
    #COYI

  18. I’ve heard the player in question is Stirling from Liverpool, only a loan deal though COYI
