Hammers Officially Unveil New Kit

West Ham United have today released the official images of their new Adidas kit for the upcoming 2013/14 season.

A two-year sponsorship deal has been signed between Adidas and West Ham, along with a three-year deal between the club and its new main shirt sponsor Alpari. These deals, along with Andy Carroll’s £15 million move show that the club is showing real ambition for the upcoming Premier League season. Karren Brady goes on to say:

The launch of our new adidas home replica kit comes at an extremely exciting time for West Ham United. I believe the new kit marks the start of an exciting new era at the club as we continue our preparations to move to the iconic Olympic Stadium in 2016.

We are delighted to be wearing adidas once again and we will be proud to bear the logo of our new principal sponsor, Alpari FX trading, which adds a stylish touch to the new shirt. With the announcement of a club-record deal to sign Andy Carroll and more transfers in the pipeline, I’m sure West Ham fans all over the world are eagerly looking forward to the start of the 2013/14 season.”

Alpari’s CMO furthered the ambitious sentiment:

“Alpari and West Ham United are two brands both proudly rooted in the City of London but with a shared global ambition. Including the Alpari name on such an iconic football strip will help introduce forex trading to a growing international audience.”

With a retro style similar to the last Adidas kit from 1985, the kit’s design, which was leaked on Twitter several weeks ago, has been received well by most fans. Many will remember famous names that last wore a claret and blue Adidas kit, including Sir Trevor Brooking, Billy Bonds, Tony Cottee and Frank McAvennie.

In addition to the vintage feel, Adidas have been keen to point out that the kit has been made with several new technologies. These are designed to control moisture, and improve ventilation.

Fans will be able to see the kit during the club’s pre-season tour of Germany and Ireland, with the first Premier League appearance scheduled for Saturday 17th August at home against Cardiff City.
