West Ham United Co-Owner has insisted the clubs recruitment drive for strikers will not stop even if the club complete the expensive signing of Andy Carroll.
The Hammer’s were swift to move for Carroll after the striker impressed during his loan spell at The Boleyn Ground, with the club negotiating a deal with Liverpool quickly after the season ended.
Carroll cost Liverpool a record fee of £35m when they signed him from Newcastle in January 2011, however they will be looking at a huge loss on the player who clearly does not fit into Brendan Rodgers plans for The Reds.
Gold has confirmed through his Twitter account that West Ham’s spending will not stop at Carroll, responding to a question if West Ham were looking to sign another striker should Carroll sign he said:
We must bring in two quality strikers
Rumours circulating yesterday suggested the club were chasing Chelsea duo Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku along with a cheeky loan bid for Manchester United new boy Wilfred Zaha.
It could be an exciting transfer window for West Ham with the club already having a £14.5m bid for Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo turned down earlier in the month.
