Great news for Hammers fans everywhere is that big Geordie Andy Carroll is part of West Ham United setup after the Irons agreed a £16million fee with Liverpool to sign the striker.
The Hammers hope that the promise of regular first team football would persuade Carroll to join the Londoners on a permanent deal especially as the World Cup in Brazil is just around the corner, so to speak.
The player, who has a heel injury, withdrew yesterday from England duty against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil.
Carroll was talking about his season at West Ham:
“I have enjoyed every minute.
“I have just tried to play my best in every match, score goals and keep myself fit.
“I have had a great season. This is a great club.”
England boss Roy Hodgson has much praise for Andy Carroll and says that the 6ft 3in striker adds another dimension to the squad.
Hodgson is right as the big Geordie adds even more height to the current West Ham lineup. The Hammers have one of the tallest squads in the Premier League and Carroll makes full use of his height advantage up front and with shielding the ball.
He will be an invaluable part of Sam Allardyce’s squad for next season and the chance of signing him shouldn’t be missed.

we have had a really good season, keeping Sam Allardyce & now Andy Carroll is staying – it can’t get any better can it.
