West Ham United produced an awful display at Goodison Park this weekend and were lucky to walk away with a 2-0 defeat.
Everton were desperate to give outgoing manager David Moyes a good send off in his last home game for the club and West Ham were the unfortunate recipients of an outstanding Everton performance.
The Hammers’ found themselves behind in only the 6th minute when a well constructed Everton move was finished off by Kevin Mirallas to make it 1-0 to the Merseyside club.

West Ham were on the back foot and second to everything for the opening 30 minutes or so of the match with Everton pushing hard for the second goal which Moyes was desperate for on the touch-line.
Kevin Nolan then forced Tim Howard into making a great save to keep the game 1-0 with his hard and low shot bringing an outstanding save from the American.
Joe Cole also had a chance on his return to the team but was unable to convert but other than his and Kevin Nolans efforts there was very little for West Ham fans to cheer as in truth we were dominated by a team desperate to send Moyes off with a win.
West Ham’s misery was complete when Mirallas struck a 25-yard shot at goal which deflected off James Collins and past the despairing Jussi Jaaskelainen – who was magnificent again – to make it 2-0 to the home side.
Sam Allardyce spoke to the BBC after the game saying:
I’m bitterly disappointed. It’s always difficult to play at Goodison Park and David Moyes’s record speaks for itself.
I warned the players but they chose to take no notice. It left us with a bad performance.
There was only one man who did his job and that was goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Without Jussi Jaaskelainen it could have been a cricket score and whether it’s a case of the players not being up for it, Everton desperate to give Moyes a winning goodbye or a combination of the two it shows how much work West Ham still have to do in the summer to strengthen a squad which has done incredibly well to be looking at a top 10 finish in their first season back in the big time.

Everton will do the same again this year – destroy!!!!!
West Ham were not up to the task this weekend, not sure if it’s because we’re already safe but it was pretty poor for travelling fans to see them just roll over even if Everton were really up for it we could of at least made it difficult for them!
I thought James Collins had a really good game, he and Jussi helped keep the score down, build for next year lads, we will have to now we have lost Moyes.
Candid assessment of a really emotional day. Who is West Ham’s Greatest Ever Footballer ?
