Andy Carroll scores awards double

Hot on the heels of his brace against West Bromwich Albion, Hammers striker Andy Carroll scooped yet another double yesterday – the club’s SBOBET Player of the Month and Goal of the Month honours.

The Geordie lad was a clear victor in both surveys, scooping 42 % of the whufc.com poll for the SBOBET Player of the Month award, and a whopping 75 % on the club’s Facebook page vote for Goal of the Month.

Andy Carroll saw off competition from second positioned Jussi Jaaskelainen and Winston Reid in 3rd to claim the honor of leading Hammer for March.

Apart from his double strike against the Baggies, over the course of the month Carroll was likewise involved in the gameplay for Jack Collison’s goal at Stoke City that proved a winner, and created mayhem for the Chelsea defenders.

There might only be one winner for March’s Goal of the Month award – Carroll’s spectacular volley to give the Hammers a 3-0 lead over West Brom on 30th March.

The Liverpool loanee let James Collins’ shot drift over his shoulder before letting loose an unstoppable shot beyond Ben Foster in the visitor’s net.

It was Carroll’s second of the game, in which West Ham won by a 3-1 scoreline, and a massive 75 % of the Hammers supporters polled positioned it as their goal for the month.

Another strike from the same match, Gary O’Neil’s curling effort, took second with 15%, while Blair Turgott’s hat-trick at the Boleyn Ground friendly with a Queens Park Rangers XI took 3rd.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!
