Hammers disappoint at Aston Villa

It was a disappointing show from the boys on Sunday. I think it reminded me of what Sunday mornings at Hackney marshes used to be like. The Hammers disappoint at Villa is putting it lightly in my opinion.

It was a right old dodgy display and pretty miserable if you ask me. I know when we got back into the Premier League it was no easy feat but to watch West Ham throwing all the good they’ve produced at the beginning of the season in the dumpster is just not cricket.

Iron Bobby hit the nail on the head when he said that “The rest of the first half was a dire affair of hoof ball from West Ham“. Come on lads, we’ve come this far and the league looked like a fairly straight-forward affair a few months back but now we are slipping.

What’s next, are we to change places with Villa and join the rest in a Premier League dogfight to see who stays up? The Premier League is a tough place and I don’t think some of the Hammers are aware that they play in top flight football!

If we carry on with this mentality then we will surely join the best of them for a bare knuckled fist fight at the end of the season to see who stays up. Staying up for West Ham should be top priority – no ifs or buts.

Having said that, I think Aston Villa were pretty lucky for a side that has just climbed out of the relegation zone. Giving away a silly penalty was just stupid. Letting Benteke take the Michael by rolling the ball past Jussi was even more so.

What was going on in Noble’s mind when he hacked down Charles N’Zogbia in the box, nobody knows. I think he tried to emulate Real Madrid’s Pepe – he’s a good hatchet man!

Winston Reid needs to get his hair sorted out. The guy gave away a silly free kick which was promptly crashed into the back of the net by N’Zogbia. Another point I have to agree on with Iron Bobby is the fact that if any of the West Ham wall had made a half hearted effort to jump, the ball would not have gone in!

The Hammers think they have found the holy grail with Carroll or something. I love the guy but the Hammers can’t keep asking him for “get out of jail cards“, can they? The team needs to pull together more as a “team” believe it or not and shouldn’t rely too much on the big forward to win all and sundry to provide knock-ons for Carlton Cole (where were you btw?) and captain Kevin Nolan.

A poor performance lads and you deserved to lose for being spanked by the bottom feeders.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!
