West Ham snatch a draw at home to QPR

Joe Cole grabbed the equaliser for West Ham at Upton Park today against Queens Park Rangers.

Loic Remy, an 8Million signing from French outfit Marseille scored the goal for QPR and made it a dream debut for his new side after just 14 minutes.

Remy was quick off the mark and connected onto a ball from Adel Taarabt before putting the ball beyond Hammers’ keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

This put a smile on Harry Redknapp’s face and the QPR boss would want to see more of this young man and his ability to avoid the drop at the end of the season. Remy is on £70,000-a-week and he’d have to put in more of those performances to justify his wages.

West Ham United pushed hard for an equaliser after the break and striker Marouane Chamakh, who’s on loan from the Gunners, had two chances that were not put to bed. The first was a shot that went heavenward and the second, a decent header was well held by the QPR stopper Julio Cesar.

Carlton Cole then came on to replace Chamakh in the 61st minute as the Hammers launched an all out attack to grab the equaliser.

Joe Cole then managed to make Big Sam smile when he levelled after Cesar denied Carlton Cole a chance to get on the scoreboard.

West Ham piled on the pressure but were powerless to find the winner as a stubborn QPR held on for a priceless point and a chance to get out of the drop zone.

About Stevo

Stevo can remember going to games with his Dad and seeing the likes of Clyde Best of all people. He also has a few mates who have “done” complete seasons too – and that was when the Irons were in division one. That’s every home and away game – unbelievable! Stevo plans to do this himself next season!
